GURUGRAM: An employee at a government bank was arrested from his home in Faridabad’s Ballabgarh on Friday for allegedly duping a sweeper of Rs 1.50 lakh that he had saved over a decade after doing odd jobs.

The accused has been identified as Atar Singh from Shahpur Kalo in Ballabgarh. He worked as an agent at a government bank in Sector 15.

Police said Patmal, a sweeper with the Municipal Corporation of Faridabad (MCF), had come to the bank to open an account to save the money.

Singh had the details of Patmal’s bank account. On one occasion, Singh taking advantage of the victim's lack of knowledge of the bank process asked him to share OTP for some account-related work. As he shared the code, the accused transferred the money to his bank account.
