Gurgaon: An FIR was filed on Tuesday against an unidentified Innova driver in connection with an accident on May 20 that left a senior CRPF officer seriously injured.On the evening in question, Surendra Kumar — posted as DIG at Group Centre, CRPF, Neemuch — was travelling from Jaipur to Gurgaon on the Mumbai Expressway. Around 8pm, before the Sohna Road exit, an Innova in the next lane swerved in front of him, without signalling or switching on its indicator.Kumar alleged that due to the sudden manoeuvre, he collided with the vehicle, causing his car to spin and crash into a roadside divider. The CRPF officer said the driver and another occupant got out of the Innova but did not offer him any assistance, although both appeared unharmed and were walking around. He described their conduct as being against “humane values”.Passers-by helped Kumar out of his damaged car. Highway authority officials and local police arrived at the spot, and Kumar was taken to Acropolis Hospital, Sohna, for a medical examination and X-rays.According to the complaint, he suffered serious injuries to his chest and leg and significant bleeding near his eye. Due to the severity of his wounds, he was referred to Medanta Hospital, where he had surgery on his leg. Kumar told cops screws had to be inserted on one side of his ankle and a plate on the other.A police officer said, “We visited Kumar’s home in Gurgaon Sector 46 on Tuesday after his discharge from hospital and took his complaint.”Bhondsi police registered a case under BNS sections related to rash and negligent driving causing injuries.
