GURUGRAM: A 30-year-old woman has filed a complaint against a cab

driver

for allegedly sending her

obscene

messages on her WhatsApp and threatening to kill her.

According to the complainant, an Ardee City resident, some months back she had

a cab along with her friends and after a while, she started receiving obscene messages. “On June 16, I received an obscene

message

on my WhatsApp. Initially, I ignored thinking it might be sent by mistake but again the next day I received a similar message. When it became a regular, I asked him to stop sending these messages but in turn he threatened to kill me. Then I finally decided to file a complaint,” the woman told police.

During the investigation, police traced the mobile number, which belongs to a former driver with a cab aggregator. He has been identified as Manju Nath (27), from Delhi.

An FIR was registered against the accused under Section 354-D (stalking over phone) of IPC at Sector 53 police station on Monday. “Manju Nath had saved the woman’s number and after a while he started stalking her. We got to know that the accused has left his previous job and is now driving his personal taxi. We are conducting raids and he will be arrested soon,” said inspector Deepak Kumar, SHO, Sector 53 police station.
