PANAJI: Hundreds of students and other citizens marched in a rally from the KTC bus stand, Panaji, shouting slogans in support of Anna Hazare while castigating the government for "insincerity on tackling corruption."
On the way to Azad Maidan, the agitators halted at the Panaji police station and demanded the release of activists who had courted arrest earlier in the day.

"When Rahul Gandhi was arrested in UP, the Congress said his democratic rights were violated. When Anna Hazare was arrested, weren't his rights violated?" said student Gaurang Purandiker.
Advocate Satish Sonak warned politicians against taking advantage of the anti-corruption movement.
Among the various speakers, Ajit Pai said, "Just as independence was an idea that was implanted and grew, so also is the idea for a Jan Lokpal. If we don't do this now, it will never happen."
Young artistes Tushar Kamat and Varun Carvalho performed songs revolving around the theme of the protests. Carvalho who sang two self-composed songs 'Turn the Tide' and 'Amche Goa' felt "people are waking up to reality. Every Indian has a responsibility towards the nation and the time to come forward is now. The Jan Lokpal is a good start," he said.
AITUC leader Christopher Fonseca said, "The government is calling Anna Hazare a dreamer, but dreamers like Mahatma Gandhi and Swami Vivekanand have contributed immensely to this country."
