South Goa gets new collector, Furtado heads DMA
PANAJI: The state government on Friday appointed an IAS officer of 2008 batch Sachin Shinde as South Goa collector in place of Venancio Furtado.
By an order issued on Friday, the government moved Furtado to head the directorate of municipal administration (DMA) replacing Elvis Gomes who has been posted as inspector general of prisons.
Mohan Lal, an IAS officer of 2002 batch, has been posted as resident commissioner, Goa Sadan, New Delhi, while Ameya Abhayankar (2007) has been reappointed as director of tourism.

Abhanyakar is also appointed special secretary (finance – budget), additional secretary (health) and director of public private participation cell. A separate order signed by additional secretary (personnel) Yatindra Maralkar, has reallocated works to secretaries.
