PANAJI: With the election campaign at its peak in
Maharashtra, chief minister
Pramod Sawant left for a two-day visit to the neighbouring state, and addressed a public rally on Thursday.
In his first visit for the campaign, Sawant travelled through Kolhapur, Sattara and Sangli regions. He held an interaction with youth in a programme called Yuva Samwad, as part of the campaign for Amal Mahadaik, who is contesting from the south Kolhapur seat.
Later in the day, he was in Ichalkaranji constituency to campaign for Suresh Halvankar, and then addressed a public rally at Sangli to campaign for Sudhir Gadgil.
On Friday, the chief minister will interact with the youth of Karad, Sattara over coffee at a programme for youngsters.
He will then meet professionals, intellectuals and youth in Sangli and later in the evening, he will address a public meeting there. The CM is expected to return to Goa by road on Friday.
