PANAJIi: Stating that the coastal security police personnel are fully prepared to tackle any infiltration by intruders from the sea, SP (Coastal Security) Allen de Sa informed TOI that the next Sagar Kavach exercise conducted by the Coast Guard would be held on December 10.
“An additional four vessels would be added to the present fleet of the Goa coastal security police with a recruitment drive to take place shortly,” de Sa said.
Dy SP (coastal security) Ramesh Gaonkar informed that “the coastal security police have to safeguard a total of 105 kms of the coastline from the Maharashtra to the Karnataka border.”
There are a total of seven coastal police stations in the state with four of them being in North Goa – Siolim, Chapora, Ribandar and Tiracol and three in South Goa – Mormugao harbour, Betul and Talpona.
