Power outage in South Goa on Dec 15
Margao: Parts of South Goa will experience a major power outage on Sunday (Dec 15) from 7am to 5pm due to maintenance on high-voltage transmission lines.
The maintenance work to replace conductors on the 220 KV Ponda-Xeldem line will affect the 220/110/33/11 kV Xeldem and 220/33 kV Cuncolim substations, along with their associated networks.
Key affected areas include the Verna Industrial Estate, portions of Dharbandora taluka, and villages in Salcete including Cuncolim, Velim, Benaulim and Navelim. Selaulim water works at Xelpem will also be affected.
The department said the shutdown is needed to maintain the extra high voltage interstate and intrastate lines and substations at Xeldem and Cuncolim.
