Peddem jn to get temporary traffic signals

Saligao: Following numerous complaints regarding the accident-prone junction at Peddem in Mapusa, Aldona MLA Carlos Alvares Ferreira, Mapusa MLA and Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC) vice-chairman Joshua D’Souza along with other government authorities conducted a joint inspection of the area on Thursday

The Mapusa MLA said that temporary installation of traffic signals has been proposed for the area, and that the Mapusa municipality will install the same after seeking permission from the National Highways Authority of India.

“It is a dangerous junction. Residents of Acoi, Camarcazan and Peddem face quite a lot of problem while crossing over to Mapusa town. We need a long-term solution,” Ferreira said.
