PANAJI: Goa government employees association (GGEA) has questioned Kadamba Transport Corporation management for "forcibly deducting" one day salary of the corporation’s employees towards Uttarakhand relief fund.
“Forcible salary deduction without written consent of the concerned employee is against the fundamental & service rules in force and this organization does not want to encroach on the right of the individual employees”, said GGEA general secretary John Nazareth in a letter to KTC’s managing director.

Nazareth said the KTC employees have approached GGEA questioning the authority of the association for agreeing to deduct one day salary for the Uttarakhand relief fund. Nazareth said that GGEA has never been consulted by KTC over the issue.
Criticising the salary deduction for the relief fund, GGEA said that such relief fund collection should be voluntary in nature. Moreover, some employees have already given donations through voluntary organisations and even political parties, the letter said.
