Man crashes bike into parked truck, critical

Ponda: Suraj Tiwari, 25, a resident of Usgao, has been critically injured after the motorcycle he was riding crashed into a broken-down truck near a flyover at Curti on Saturday evening. Tiwari was riding towards Ponda town.Tiwari lost control over the two-wheeler and crashed the motorcycle into the parked truck from behind. He was immediately rushed to a hospital in Ponda for treatment.The Ponda police have registered a case of motor vehicle accident after conducting a panchanama.Sources said the loaded truck had broken down a few days ago and has been left by the side of the road since then. Locals said that police should have acted faster in moving the vehicle out of the road carriageway. They said that such heavy vehicles are routinely seen broken down by roadsides with slow action to move them elsewhere.
