Porvorim police have registered the mysterious death of a constable attached to the Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB), Kishor Shirodkar, resident of Morjim, as murder.

PANAJI: Porvorim police have registered the mysterious death of a constable attached to the Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB), Kishor Shirodkar, resident of Morjim, as murder.
Porvorim PI Paresh Naik said that based on the complaint of Kishor’s wife Ashwini, they have registered the murder case under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and investigation has begun.

On July 20, Shirodkar, 34 was found dead in the courtyard of a house at Porvorim along NH 17.
The postmortem report placed the cause of death as “asphyxia as a result of constriction of neck by ligature material”, police had said.
Porvorim police on Thursday morning had received a call around 8am informing them that a body was lying in the courtyard of an unoccupied house. An open school once ran from the house.
Shirodkar joined the IRB around 10 years ago, around which time he also got married, police sources said. Shirodkar is survived by his wife and two children.
