Iffi mourns Bernardo Bertolucci’s demise
Panaji: Filmmakers at the ongoing International Film Festival of India (Iffi) reminisced the life and works of Oscar-winning Italian filmmaker Bernardo Bertolucciwho passed away in Rome on November 26. He was 77.
It was his 1972 hit ‘Last Tango in Paris’, starring Marlon Brando and Maria Schneider that shot Bertolucci to fame. His epic film ‘The Last Emperor’ won nine Oscars in 1987.
“I have good memories about Bertolucci’s films and it is painful that he is now gone,” said Laura Delli Colli, vice-president of Foundazione Cinema per Roma.
