Goa: Eight held for stealing mobiles at music fest

Four people from Delhi were arrested by Calangute police on Monday for allegedly stealing mobile phones from festival-attenders at the Sunburn Klassique EDM festival at Vagator during the last three days.

CALANGUTE/SALIGAO: Four people from Delhi were arrested by Calangute police on Monday for allegedly stealing mobile phones from festival-attenders at the Sunburn Klassique EDM festival at Vagator during the last three days.
Waseem Ahmed, 28, Mohammad Jamil, 29, Aneesh Suleman, 50, and Lal Mohammad, 40, have been arrested for stealing mobile phones at the venue, following many complaints by festival-goers.

The four, all residents of Delhi, had been staying at Calangute.
The police has recovered 54 mobile phones worth Rs 10 lakh from the accused. The group had allegedly come to Goa to rob mobile phones from festival-goers at Sunburn, police said.
Similarly even Anjuna police arrested another four mobile thieves on Sunday night from the venue identified as Delhi native Aatik Rehman, 30, Mumbai natives Zahir Sheikh, 24, Imran Sheikh, 27, and Sohail Rehman and recovered eight handsets from their custody.
Police is further investigating the case.
