Dispute escalates fatally: 64-year-old woman fatally stabbed over noise dispute; Police arrest 21-year-old suspect for murder.

A 64-year-old woman, Meherunissa Bidikar, was fatally stabbed by a 21-year-old man in her residential flat at Nayak Building in Baina, Vasco on Sunday afternoon following a dispute over door banging noise.

Mormugao police have arrested Rohom Ali, a native of Assam, for the murder that occurred around 4 pm.

The incident stemmed from an argument between Bidikar and Ali regarding repeated banging of a terrace door in the building.

In a fit of anger, Ali allegedly entered Bidikar's third-floor apartment and attacked her with a knife, resulting in her immediate death.

Police discovered the victim in a pool of blood in her flat. The exact motive behind the murder is still under investigation.

The accused has been taken into custody, and the victim's body has been sent for postmortem examination.
