The owner of Club Westend in Saligao was allegedly attacked by history sheeters from Anjuna, who attempted to extort a ransom of 50 lakh on Sunday morning.

MAPUSA: The owner of Club Westend in Saligao was allegedly attacked by history sheeters from Anjuna, who attempted to extort a ransom of Rs 50 lakh on Sunday morning.
According to Anjuna police, Sajid Hussain got call on his cellphone at about 12.30am on Sunday and called to a restaurant in Vagator, from where he was abducted by nine people and taken to a pub in Deulwada, Anjuna.

The pub is allegedly run by a drug peddler, who is a foreign national. In his complaint, Hussain said that he was beaten up at the pub and threatened at knife point to pay 50 lakh or else get killed.
When Sajid's son's repeated attempts to contact him failed, fearing something untoward, he contacted the police. Anjuna police got information that Sajid was taken to a pub in Deulwada and rushed to the spot. All the accused fled from the scene before the police could reach there.
Sajid has named Sadanand alias Bhui Chimulkar, Sirish, Amog , Milind and five others unknown persons as accused in his complaint.
"We have registered an offence of extortion and assault and have launched a manhunt for the accused. we are working on the specific clues and hope to nab the accused soon" Anjuna PI Paresh Naik said.
Sadanand alias Bhui Chimulkar who is named as accused in the case was caught by anti narcotics squad (ANC) for illegal possession of a cocktail of drugs worth about Rs 4.3 lakh in January 2010. Another accused Sirish was involved in the October 2010 murder case of Samprit Malvankar.
