Defence minister AK Antony has expressed regret over the recent incident where a Coast Guard vessel collided with a Goan fishing trawler off the Goa coast resulting in the drowning of five fishermen.

DABOLIM: Defence minister AK Antony has expressed regret over the recent incident where a Coast Guard vessel collided with a Goan fishing trawler off the Goa coast resulting in the drowning of five fishermen.
When questioned on the incident in which the Coast Guard vessel 'ICGS Vaibhav' collided with the fishing trawler 'Sea Messiah', Antony termed the incident as "a very sad and unfortunate incident". "We are very sorry about it," he added.
Antony was speaking to mediapersons on the sidelines of the commissioning ceremony of the MiG-29K fighter jets into the Indian Navy at INS Hansa in Dabolim on Saturday.
Antony said the government would support the families of the drowned fishermen. He further said an inquiry into the incident was on, and action will be taken on the basis of the inquiry report.
