CCP serves notice to sky dining venture, nightclub for operating without licence

Panaji: The Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) has served a show cause notice to a nightclub and the operator of Fly Sky Dining for running the businesses without valid trade licences. CCP commissioner Clen Madeira has asked Anil Hoble, in whose property the two businesses are operating, to respond within seven days.

CCP’s municipal inspector conducted a site inspection on Dec 10 and found that Vibes and Fly Sky Dining were operating without valid trade licences as required under Section 322 of the City of Panaji Corporation Act, 2002.


“You are hereby directed to show cause within a period of seven days as to why action against you should not be initiated, failing which the corporation will be compelled to issue directions to seal your premises for carrying out trade without a licence,” said Madeira in the notice.

The site inspection was initiated in the aftermath of the fire at the Arpora nightclub. CCP also wrote to the directorate of fire and emergency services (DFES) asking for a list of all the enterprises in the state capital that have been issued fire NOCs.

In 2023, the Goa police arrested three individuals for running a prostitution racket at a pub that was operating where Vibes now stands along the Ribandar-Panaji causeway.
