Panaji: Revolutionary Goans party MLA Viresh Borkar criticised the Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA) for claiming it cannot review or revoke permissions for the allegedly illegal wall built by a resort along the Bambolim beach. Borkar said he will seek a legal opinion to determine if GCZMA’s decision can be challenged and will raise the issue in the monsoon assembly session.
“It looks like the BJP govt only wants to help the builder and hotel lobby. The common man is thrown aside. In Goa, if a local is involved, then hearings go on for years and years, but for builders and hotels, hearings are conducted within three months. The hearings are held so fast, and decisions are given in their favour,” said Borkar.
He said the GCZMA’s decision proves that the BJP govt is involved in land deals. “The member secretary has taken a biased decision. We reject this and will seek a legal opinion because the facts underlying the decision are all false. There should be an investigation into the decision,” said Borkar.
