As monsoon makes delayed start, Bamanbuddo waterfall finally begins its mesmersing flow
Canacona: Following the delay in the onset of monsoon, Bamanbuddo waterfalls has finally started flowing steadily.
Thousands of visitors travel to Gaondongrim in Canacona taluka every season to witness its mesmersing cascades.
“Every year, we used to have a strong flow of Bamanbuddo waterfalls prior to June 15. I feel that such a delay has occurred after more than 15 years,” said Gaondongrim sarpanch Yeshwant (Dhilon) Desai, pointing out that there has a delay of nearly 15 days. The waterfall, however, is yet to flow in full force, he said.
“It will flow in all its splendour only if it rains heavily in the next few days,” Desai told TOI.
A local said that visitors will start coming in hordes, however, much more rain is needed to witness its magnificent flow.
“Social media has made this place much more popular, and people, including tourists, come from far and wide. Nonetheless, some visitors have just begun to come in,” he said.
What also adds to the advantage is accessibility to the falls.
Bamanbudo waterfalls is located in Tudal, Gaodongrim village, Canacona, along the Bhatpal-Neturlim road near Ambhe Ghat.
Desai said that they get positive feedback from visitors who come to the waterfalls due to its serene nature and beauty.
“When tourists and vistors pay a visit to Bamanbuddo, they say they feel satisfied with nature’s bounty and adventure after watching the water cascading down the rocks,” he said.
The panchayat is also gearing up in view of the rise in footfalls to the falls.
The sarpanch also said that they will be placing dust bins by Thursday so that visitors can use them for disposing off the waste they behind at the site.
“It’s our endeavour to keep the place clean, and we need everyone’s cooperation,” Desai said
A local said despite of dust bins, some visitors instead of using the bins, throw the thrash wherever they sit.
The sarpanch said Gaondongrim panchayat at its meeting on Wednesday will also discuss the issue and see if anything more is needed to be provided to the waterfall.
