Agasaim police register two fatal accidents in 24 hrs
PANAJI
: Two riders died in two separate accidents within the jurisdiction of the Agasaim police station on Thursday.Zuari bridge
, at around 6.30am on Wednesday, while Dipankar Roy, 29, ofJalpaiguri
, West Bengal, lost his life after he entered a wrong lane and hit a four-wheeler near Curca bridge. He also injured a 11-year-old boy who was in the vehicle.Agasaim police said Vongeyer, 55, sustained grievous head injuries after an oncoming car driven by Adil Ahamad, 20, swerved into the wrong lane on Zuari bridge, dashed into two cars going towards

and then hit Vongeyer’s motorbike. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, police said, adding that the impact resulted in him being flung onto the bridge’s footpath and hitting his head on a pipe. He was declared ‘brought dead’ by doctors at the GMC,Bambolim
.In the second accident, Roy, who was riding from Batim to Curca, entered the wrong lane upon nearing the Curca bridge, and dashed into an oncoming four-wheeler. He died on his way to hospital. The 11-year-old child is presently undergoing treatment.
