The festival will also cover the travel and accommodation of each selected candidate.

Union minister for information and broadcasting

Anurag Singh Thakur

had announced this, first of its kind, initiative on October 22. He said that Iffi will provide a platform to young budding talent from across India to connect with mainstream filmmakers and the industry.

Iffi had therefore invited applications from young filmmakers across the country, out of whom 75 creative minds will be selected to attend the festival in Goa. They will be selected through a competition.

The grand jury comprises of Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) chairman Prasoon Joshi, director Ketan Mehta, musician Shankar Mahadevan, actor Manoj Bajpayee, Oscar winning sound recordist Rasul Pookutty and producer/director Vipul Amrutlal Shah.
