Panaji: Goa police on Friday arrested three persons in connection with allegedly cheating a woman of over Rs 9 lakh under the pretext of selling land belonging to the comunidade of Cunchelim.
North Goa superintendent of police, Rahul Gupta, said that Rinki Rajesh Jha, a resident of Cunchelim, lodged a complaint that prior to June 10, 2025, Sumit Fadte, resident of Cunchelim, Raju Mandrekar, resident of Camurlim, and Rajaj Anthony, resident of Karaswada, induced her to buy plots measuring 270sqm belonging to the comunidade and located at Cunchelim itself.

Thereafter, they failed to transfer the legal rights of the allotted land to her, and also failed to return the accepted amount, thereby cheating her to the tune of Rs 9.7 lakh.
