2 held with ganja at Camurlim

MAPUSA: Mapusa police arrested two youth from Bardez in possession of narcotic drugs on Friday night.

Mapusa police said they acted on a tip-off and a raid was conducted at the ferry point in Camurlim.

Police caught the accused Sajan

Narvekar

, 25, resident of Duler, and Rupesh Jadhav, 25, resident of Cuchelim, allegedly red-handed in illegal possession of 445grams of ganja .

Police attached the drugs under the panchanama along with other articles.

“Both the accused, Narvekar and Jadhav were apprehended and brought to the police station after informing them about their grounds of arrest. They were placed under arrest for the said crime,” said a police official.

Mapusa police have registered the offence under Section 20 (b)(ii) A of NDPS Act.

The raid was led by police sub-inspectors

and

Kiran Naik

and police constables Rupesh Korgaonkar, Rajesh Kanolkar along with with two witnesses.

Further investigation is being carried out under the supervision of police inspector Tushar Lotlikar and sub-divisional police officer, Mapusa, deputy superintendent of police, Mahesh Gaonkar.
