RRTS to run for 2 hrs more from Monday

Ghaziabad: Namo Bharat trains will run for two more hours — from 6am to 10pm — from Monday. The trains currently operate from 6am to 8pm between Monday and Saturday. On Sunday, the trains run from 8am to 8pm. According to the revised schedule, the trains will run from 8am to 10pm on Sundays.“To further boost commuter convenience and comfort, Namo Bharat trains on the operational section of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor will run until 10pm starting Monday,” said an NCRTC official.Namo Bharat's total ridership figures recently crossed the 10 lakh mark since commercial operations commenced in Dec last year, with an additional 17 km section launched in March this year.NCRTC also plans to extend the rapid rail service to Meerut as the section between Modinagar North and Meerut South is in the last leg. “The work on the 8 km Modinagar North and Meerut South section is nearing completion. The section will become operational after the metro safety commissioner inspects it anytime soon. With this, the 42 km section from Sahibabad to Meerut South will become operational, expanding from the existing 34 km,” said the official.

South Western Railway extends dates of summer special trains including routes like SMVT Bengaluru - Kharagpur, Kharagpur - SMVT Bengaluru, SMVT Bengaluru - Howrah, Howrah - SMVT Bengaluru, SMVT Bengaluru - Guwahati, Guwahati - SMVT Bengaluru, SMVT Bengaluru - Malda Town, Malda Town - SMVT Bengaluru, and Mysuru - Muzaffarpur via Katpadi until June 14-17.
