GHAZIABAD: A 25-year-old sanitary businessman was shot in the neck by a miscreant on Sunday evening on GT road under Kotwali police station. The victim identified as Manish Yadav has been admitted to Yashoda Hospital in critical condition.
The miscreants had come in a black and after shooting Manish managed to flee from the spot. Cops, who reached the spot after coming to know about the incident, said prima facie animosity seems to be the cause behind the murder.
Manish and the accused's families have been involved in a feud for the past 15 years in which three people lost their lives.
SP (city) Manish Kumar Mishra, who reached the spot, said that Manish, who is a resident of Shahpur Bamhata, runs a sanitary business on GT Road in Kotwali area. The incident took place around 7pm when Manish closed his shop and was going to sit in his car which was parked outside. During this time, a young man came and fired on Manish's neck. According to police, the black car was parked near Manish's Mercedes car. A person was already sitting in it. The accused, who shot and fled in the same car, fled towards Lal Kuan.
Police said Manish's father Rambir Yadav, who was a local councillor, was named in the murder of Sanjay Pahalwan, brother of SP leader Vinod Yadav in 2004.
Rambir was also murdered a few days later and at that time Vinod's family was made accused.
Later, the two sides reconciled. But in 2014, Vinod's cousin
Kapil Yadav was accused of grabbing the land of Rambir's relatives and a few days later Kapil Yadav was also killed.
In this case, the names of many people, including Manish and his aunt's sons, had come up. However, during the investigation, Manish was given a clean chit, while others were arrested by the police.
The judgment in the Kapil murder’s case is expected to come on Monday. Police suspect that the attack on Manish could be related to this.
