NEW DELHI: YouTuber and
Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner Elvish Yadav was on Sunday arrested by Noida Police in connection with wildlife protection act case.
He will be presented in a local court today.
Yadav was one of six people mentioned in a police report filed on November 3 last year at Sector 49 police station. The other five were arrested but are now out on bail.
The case involves wildlife protection laws and criminal conspiracy.
Later, the investigation was moved from Sector 49 to Sector 20 police station. Yadav was arrested by the Sector 20 police team. He has denied involvement and has been questioned before.
"The accused has been arrested by a team of Sector 20 police station which was investigating the case," Additional DCP (Noida) Manish Mishra told PTI.
The police inspector in charge of Sector 49 police station during the filing of the report was transferred.
The case was filed based on a complaint from an animal rights group. Five people were arrested at a banquet hall in Sector 51, where nine snakes, including five cobras, were rescued, along with suspected
snake venom.
Yadav was not at the party, but police were looking into his possible involvement in the snake venom case.
Maneka Gandhi, chairperson of People For Animals and a BJP leader, accused Yadav of illegally selling snake venom and demanded his arrest.
