NEW DELHI: Delhi BJP on Saturday asked chief minister Arvind Kejriwal to explain the reason behind withdrawing the contentious excise policy of 2021 if there was no corruption in it.
Addressing a press conference, Delhi BJP also posed eight questions to the AAP government and claimed that Kejriwal and deputy CM Manish Sisodia had never provided answers to the specific points raised by the opposition.

Earlier on Saturday, Kejriwal claimed that the excise case was result of a political vendetta and conspiracy and the same policy was a huge success in Punjab.
The 2021 policy was withdrawn by Delhi government in September and replaced by the old excise policy, which was in force till November 2021.
"We want to know from Kejriwal if there was no such thing as a scam in the liquor policy and if it was so transparent and good for Delhi's revenues, why was it withdrawn hurriedly after CBI started investigating the case," Delhi BJP working president Virendra Sachdeva said.
Sachdeva said the Kejriwal government should answer the "most basic" eight questions on the withdrawn liquor policy. "Kejriwal should especially explain why Sisodia changed his mobile phones frequently during the intervening period of implementation and withdrawal of the liquor policy," he said.
Leader of opposition in the Assembly, Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, claimed that the AAP government had increased the commission of liquor wholesalers from 2% to 12%. "These liquor traders have told CBI they were forced to give 6% commission back as donation to AAP," Bidhuri alleged. "There has been a scam of at least Rs 6,000 crore, which CBI is investigating and very soon the truth will be in front of everyone."
West Delhi MP Parvesh Verma said Kejriwal should agree for a narco test if he was so confident that there was no scam. "BJP has already spoken about the connection between Telangana leaders and the new liquor policy. We were proved correct with their interrogation and arrests of their close aides," Verma claimed.
