Vijay Nagar murders: Daughter succumbs
NEW DELHI: Richa Soni (17), who had been injured in a brutal attack which left her parents dead on Friday, died in Hindu Rao hospital on Saturday.
Richa’s parents, Rajan (45) and Neera (40), were stabbed to death on Friday morning while they were asleep in their double-storey house in Vijay Nagar.
Deputy commissioner of police (DCP) north-west Sanjay Singh said despite having survived the attack, Richa had remained critical.

‘‘She was administered four units of blood donated by the police officers. But the stab injuries were deep and she was bleeding profusely when taken to the hospital,’’ he said.
The DCP said they were yet to ascertain the motive behind the murder.
They have, however, questioned Rajan’s relatives to know if he had a dispute with anybody. The police have already ruled out robbery as the motive.
The police have recovered the weapon of offence, a knife, from the spot.
According to a police officer, the blood-stained knife is between 10 and 12 inches. The incident reportedly took place at about 3.30 am.
