Vigilance clearance, 60% benchmark mandatory for state teachers’ awards
New Delhi: Directorate of Education (DoE) has issued guidelines for state teachers' awards 2025 (Special Category) to honour principals, vice-principals, and teachers who have made outstanding contributions to education in Delhi. The DoE has emphasised that the state teachers' awards will recognise only those with extraordinary achievements and contributions that go beyond routine duties. According to the guidelines, candidates must also have vigilance clearance and achieve a minimum benchmark of 60% to qualify. The awards also include educators at various headquarters branches. The guidelines specify that teachers or heads who received any state teacher's award, or, for heads of schools, the Excellence in Education Award in the past three years (2021–24), are ineligible. The awards span seven categories, each with a designated nomination form, covering NIOS and Pratibha Vikas Vidyalayas, core academic units, nursery/primary branches, educational and vocational guidance counsellors, mentor teachers, special education teachers, and guest/contract teachers under Samagra Shiksha."Claims alone won't earn points; only verified evidence such as certificates, orders, or published results will be considered," an official said. Principals and vice-principals must obtain vigilance clearance certificates from the directorate of vigilance.Heads of schools are responsible for thoroughly verifying applications before sending them to the district deputy education officer, who certifies and forwards them to the headquarters. A senior DoE committee will evaluate nominations based on a marking scheme, with a minimum score of 60 percent required for recommendations; applications with lower scores will be rejected. The deadline for submissions runs till Aug 27, with specific deadlines for each stage of forwarding and verification.
