new delhi: two persons were killed and another injured in two separate accidents in the city in the last 24 hours. in nizamuddin, a 30-year-old woman was killed when the rickshaw she was riding was hit by an unidentified vehicle on thursday morning. police said the victim, taslima begum, was riding the rickshaw while her husband, abu, was pulling it.

the duo were going down the ring road in sarai kale khan when an unidentified speeding vehicle rammed the rickshaw from behind. the impact threw the couple off the rickshaw. taslima reportedly died on the spot. abu was injured. police said that he was unable to notice the type and make of the offending vehicle. in keshav puram, northwest delhi, a 24-year-old man was killed when he was run over by a speeding truck. police said arvind gupta and his uncle, satender gupta, hired an autorickshaw on wednesday night. they were driving through ashok vihar when the autorickshaw broke down. arvind and satender started pushing the autorickshaw, while the driver sat inside. suddenly, arvind saw a truck speeding towards them. in an effort to avoid being run over, he reportedly tried to jump out of the way. he was, however, hit by the speeding truck and killed on the spot. arvind's uncle and the autorickshaw driver escaped unhurt. the police have registered a case against the truck driver, mohammad samad, who has been arrested.
