Two injured in accidental firing

In what appears to be a case of accidental firing, two employees of a petrol pump were injured after the security guard deployed at the pump fired by mistake, while cleaning his rifle.

NEW DELHI: In what appears to be a case of accidental firing, two employees of a petrol pump were injured after the security guard deployed at the pump fired by mistake, while cleaning his rifle, late on Monday night in Seemapuri area of north-east Delhi. The police said that they have registered a case of negligence against the guard, who is reported to be absconding.

According to police, the security guard Sanoj Kumar (27) was deployed at a Hindustan Petroleum outlet in Seemapuri. On Monday night, he was changing the duty and cleaning his 12-bore rifle when it went off accidentally. Two persons, identified as Dharamveer (22) and Naresh Kumar (20), were working as attendants at the petrol pump.
