Traffic advisories issued for JLN stadium concert in evening
New Delhi: Commuters travelling through central Delhi on Saturday may face traffic diversions and delays as special arrangements will be put in place for a music concert at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Lodhi Colony. The concert, Heritage India Tour: Dr Satinder Sartaj Live, is expected to draw around 35,000 spectators, prompting authorities to regulate traffic for public safety and smoother movement.Restrictions and diversions will be enforced between 4pm and 10pm, with spillover congestion likely to continue until late night. Motorists have been advised to avoid roads around the stadium during this period, particularly BP Marg, Lodhi Road and the stretch from the JLN Stadium red light, where the movement of heavy vehicles will remain restricted.
Those driving in the area have been advised to park only at designated locations and follow diversion signs and instructions given by traffic personnel on the ground. Commuters heading towards railway stations, the airport or hospitals have been advised to start early and plan alternative routes.Emergency vehicles such as on-duty ambulances, fire tenders and police vehicles will be allowed unrestricted access. However, even they have been advised to avoid BP Marg and Lodhi Road as far as possible to ensure faster response times.Concert-goers have been encouraged to use public transport, especially the metro. JLN Stadium metro station on Violet Line is identified as the nearest and most convenient station to reach the venue, helping reduce traffic pressure on surrounding roads. The traffic police said adequate arrangements would be in place to regulate traffic and prevent confusion, urging commuters to remain patient, follow rules and cooperate with personnel deployed at key intersections.
