TN varsity finally gets Baisoya letter
NEW DELHI: Almost a month after DU claimed that it has taken up the matter of
However, TU has reverted stating that Delhi University did not pay for the standard verification fee of Rs 500 required for the process and has requested for the payment.
This has led many in DU to speculate that this mistake was done to further delay the process of getting Baisoya’s case out. The university’s vice-chancellor and the registrar have not responded to the questions raised by TOI till now despite several messages and reminders.
Speaking to TOI, the controller of examination of Thiruvalluvar University, B Senthil Kumar, confirmed that “We have received a letter from DU a few days back. But the university did not follow proper procedure and did not give us the fee that we asked for to check the genuineness of certificates.”
This was corroborated by TU vice-chancellor, who said the university has sent a letter to DU asking for the fees so that they could expedite the process of verification, else they won’t be able to provide for the required information. However, many in DU have complained that this withholding of fee was done deliberately to delay the process.
“First, the DU administration did not send the letter on time and kept delaying it until a case was filed against it. Now, we see that it has not paid the fee necessary for such document. We can be sure that DU will take a few more weeks to pay the amount and get the verification done,” a senior TU official alleged.
The details on the verification of documents and the fee requirement are available on the TU website.
The head of the Buddhist department KTS Sarao, DU registrar Tarun Das and vice-chancellor Yogesh Tayagi did not respond to queries about the delay and why the fee was not paid along with the letter.
Former DUSU vice-president Kunal Sehrawat alleged that “DU is finding all methods possible to delay the investigation in the case.
