New Delhi: BJP’s national council on Sunday passed a resolution celebrating the consecration of Ram Lalla in
Ayodhya and calling the January 22 event the herald of a new era which would establish Ram Rajya for the next 1,000 years.
“The construction of a grand and divine temple of Lord Shri Ram at his birthplace in Ayodhya is a historic and glorious achievement for the country.
This heralds the establishment of ‘Ram Rajya’ in India for the next 1,000 years with the beginning of a new ‘Kalchakra’,” the resolution said.
The resolution was adopted on the concluding day of the national council meeting which saw home minister Amit Shah attack Congress for not respecting Ram and disparaging Sanatan Dharma for vote bank considerations and the politics of appeasement. The resolution also praised the PM. “BJP heartily congratulates the leadership of the PM (Narendra Modi) for successfully conducting the consecration of Lord Ram,” it said.
The resolution noted that the Ram temple was a symbol of India’s vision, philosophy and path. “Shri Ram temple has truly become a temple of national consciousness,” it said and added that every Indian was happy to see the divine consecration of Lord Shri Ram.
The party also said construction of Ram Mandir was in sync with the spirit of the Constitution as reflected in the picture of “Lord Shri Rama, Sita Ma, Lakshman ji and Hanuman in its original copy”, as well as the Gandhian vision of Ram Rajya.
Shah accused Congress of distorting the principle of secularism by denying the existence of Ram, by opposing the law banning triple talaq, opposing UCC and by not removing Article 370.
