Delhi coaching centre mishap live updates: Relative of Shreya Yadav, one amongst three deceased students says...
"I received no information officially, either from the coaching institute or administration. I saw the news and approached there, I went to the mortuary and asked them to show me the face for identification but they denied saying it was a police case. They showed me a paper where her (Shreya Yadav) name was written... When the news of students being deceased started coming up since I was there with her at the time of her admission, I called the coaching institute, they said we couldn't tell the name but two causalities had happened... Those who have given birth, only know the value of life and it shouldn't be lost due to mismanagement. I demand that a case of culpable homicide should be lodged against the owner of the coaching institute."

I do not want to politicise this whole issue but at the same time we have to see that today the (Delhi) government is proving to be a complete failure. It is not able to provide water, waterlogging is happening... Who permitted to run the institute in the basement? We should pay attention to this. Kejriwal ji continuously writes letters to maintain his position, but now we should also see the condition of Delhi today...His ministers are not able to do anything today. The situation is that the minister, who should have reached the spot immediately, has not reached there... We have said earlier also that if they are not able to run the government, then an all-party meeting should be called, discussions should be held and solutions to these problems should be found. The work is not going to be done with just a few hours of sympathy. The infrastructure of Delhi looks completely destroyed today and the attention of this government should be drawn towards this. They should take moral responsibility and if you see their entire tenure, they are continuously failing.- Congress President Devender Yadav

It is sad that 3 children have died. I have written to the MCD Commissioner that strict action should be taken against all such coaching centres across Delhi which are under the jurisdiction of MCD and are running commercial activities in the basement which are violating the building bylaws and are not as per the norms. The completion certification of this building in Rajinder Nagar was given in 2021 and it is clearly written that the basement will be used only for parking and storage... We should not play the blame game and take action against those responsible... The way it is raining in Delhi, the record of 88 years has been broken and there is a problem of waterlogging but MCD, PWD, Delhi Jal Board are working 24 hours to give relief to the people of Delhi.- Mayor Shelly Oberoi

When TOI visited the site, they encountered anxious students and parents seeking information about the incident. Numerous politicians had also arrived at the scene, and police personnel were present to manage the crowd. The building of the coaching centre was barricaded, an ambulance was brought inside the complex, and water was being pumped out from the basement.

UPSC aspirant Rahul Pawar, 29, recounted, "The force of the water was so strong that it knocked down the building's gate, allowing water to flood into the basement where the library is located." Delhi coaching centre mishap live updates: Students describe scene 'horrific'
The water that accumulated at Rau’s IAS coaching centre in Old Rajender Nagar on Saturday eventually flooded the basement, resulting in a fatality and creating a dire situation that required the intervention of divers.

Students on the scene described it as "horrific" and beyond anything they had ever imagined experiencing. Some students also reported a similar situation a week earlier when the street had waist-deep rainwater.
Heavy rain caused severe flooding in the basement library of Rau's IAS coaching centre in Old Rajender Nagar, Delhi, resulting in the drowning of three students.

Despite the efforts of NDRF, fire brigade, and police, two girls and one male student were trapped and could not be rescued. The incident has led to protests and demands for accountability.

Delhi Mayor Shelly Oberoi has announced an investigation into the illegal use of basements and the lapses in safety measures by the coaching centre and municipal authorities.
