NEW DELHI: Senior IAS officer Dharmendra of the 1989-batch AGMUT cadre has been appointed as the new chief secretary of the Delhi government, starting from September 1 or from the date of his joining.

He is currently the chief secretary of Arunachal Pradesh.
According to an order from the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, Dharmendra will replace incumbent Naresh Kumar, whose tenure ends on August 31. Kumar had previously received two extensions from the central government.
Dharmendra's new role comes as part of administrative changes implemented by the government to ensure smooth governance in Delhi.
