New Delhi: Protesters at northeast Delhi's Jafrabad said Sunday's protest is not only against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act and National Register of Citizens, but they are also supporting the 'Bharat Bandh' called by Bhim Army chief Chandrashekhar Azad over reservations in promotions on February 23.
Speaking about the protest at Jafrabad, senior BJP functionary
Vijay Goel said: "This protest is pre-arranged by the opposition parties, who were unable to defeat Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the 2019 elections.
The law has been passed by the Parliament and protesting against it or promoting propaganda over it is completely wrong."
"Police can take action against it but since there are women and children at the protest site, we don't want any violence over there," the Rajya Sabha member said.
