Police trace missing mentally ill woman and reunite her with family
New Delhi: A mentally ill domestic worker who had gone missing from southeast Delhi last month was traced from an ashram in Rajasthan and safely reunited with her family.
The 31-year-old woman, a Nepalese national employed as a house cleaner in East of Kailash, had been missing since March 28 after she reportedly left home and lost her way. Police said she was under medication, and her disappearance had raised serious concern due to her vulnerable condition.
A search operation was launched soon after the case was reported at Amar Colony police station. Teams worked on multiple leads, using technical surveillance, field intelligence and local inputs to track her movement. During the investigation, it emerged that the woman had reached Bharatpur in Rajasthan.
She was eventually located at Apna Ghar Ashram in Bharatpur, where she had been staying. A police team from crime branch was immediately sent to the location, and she was safely recovered and brought back to Delhi.
She was handed over to the local police for necessary legal procedures and was later reunited with her family.
