She is likely to stay at the hospital for at least one week and may then be moved to Jharkhand Bhawan as she needs regular nursing to heal the injuries dotting her face and body. Speaking to TOI, Safdarjung medical superintendent B D Athani said that the surgery had been successful and was a routine operation. “It was necessary to speed up the healing process. She had a deep wound to her scalp and the grafting will assist healing. We will keep her in hospital for a few more days and then take a call on her health and whether or not she can be discharged,” Athani said. Only a review would determine if any further intervention is required, he said.
