Churu

Rajasthan continued to suffer a blistering heatwave for the 17th consecutive day on Tuesday, with Churu being the hottest place in India where the mercury touched the 50.5 degrees Celsius mark.

Water rationing plan​

Delhi experienced its highest recorded temperature, reaching a scorching 49.9°C on Tuesday. As a result, several areas in south Delhi, such as Greater Kailash, Lajpat Nagar, Panchsheel Park, Hauz Khas, and Chittaranjan Park, are expected to be significantly affected by an impending water rationing plan.

Sirsa half-boiled

Sirsa’s maximum temperature on Tuesday touched 50.3 degrees Celsius in a heatwave-gripped Haryana. The next three hottest districts after Sirsa were Hisar, Narnaul and Rohtak.

Heatstroke​

Ganganagar, Rajasthan's second hottest location, has been experiencing extreme temperatures recently. According to official health department data, more than 1,100 individuals have been admitted to emergency rooms in hospitals across Rajasthan for heatstroke treatment over the past two days (Monday-Tuesday).

​Jhansi ​

Jhansi sweltered at 49 degrees Celsius maximum temperature, highest in 132 years since when the records are available. Earlier, the highest maximum temperature was 48.2 degrees Celsius, recorded in 1984. The met records have been maintained here since 1892.

Power outages in Rajasthan

Pilani and Phalodi, located in Rajasthan, have been experiencing scorching temperatures, making them some of the hottest places in the state. The extreme heat has been exacerbated by frequent and unexpected power outages, which have been reported from various parts of Rajasthan.

Rain alert for Delhi

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings for Delhi, with a red alert in place for Wednesday and an orange alert for Thursday. However, very light rain is forecast for Friday and Saturday, which may provide some relief from the oppressive heat.
