MCD makes Aadhaar-based biometric attendance mandatory for staff
New Delhi: Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has made registration on the Aadhaar-Based Biometric Attendance System (AEBAS) mandatory for all officials posted at its headquarters and warned that salaries will be withheld for those who fail to comply by Feb 28. Sources said salary processing for Group C and Group D staff will now be linked to attendance recorded on the new system. Currently, employees record attendance using a location-based system with face recognition, but going forward, the Aadhaar-based biometric platform will be the primary and mandatory method.
