Singhu border murder case: Haryana Police detains one person

The body of an unidentified man with one of his hands chopped off was found near the farmers' protest site at Kundli in Haryana's Sonipat district on Friday. The deceased was aged around 35 years and the body was found tied to a metal barricade near the protest site, close to the Singhu border. The body of an unidentified man with one of his hands chopped off was found near the farmers' protest site at Kundli in Haryana's Sonipat district on Friday, police said. The deceased was aged around 35 years and the body was found tied to a metal barricade near the protest site, close to the Singhu border, they added. "The Kundli police station received information at 5 am that a body was found near the farmers' protest site," a Sonipat police official said.

Poll prep: BJP to begin ‘Jhuggi Yatra’
Delhi BJP chief Adesh Gupta, leader of Opposition in Delhi assembly Ramvir Singh Bidhuri and other Delhi BJP functionaries are going to start a 'Jhuggi Yatra' from Friday in a bid to connect with slum dwellers ahead of the 2022 municipal polls. Delhi records minimum temperature of 18.6 deg C
Delhi woke up to a slight chill in the air on Friday as the minimum temperature settled at 18.6 degrees Celsius, a notch below normal for this time of the year, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said. According to the weather office, it is likely to be a clear, sunny day with the maximum temperature reaching up to 34 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity was recorded at 68 per cent at 8.30am.

Covid-19: Delhi govt extends validity of notification on epidemic disease regulations
The lieutenant governor has extended the validity of a notification issued in March last year on the Delhi Epidemic Diseases COVID-19 Regulations, 2020, according to an official notification. The notification was issued by the authorities on March 12, 2020 in exercise of the powers conferred under the relevant sections of the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897. Delhi's first COVID-19 case was reported in early March 2020 and since then, it has seen multiple waves, particularly the last one in April-May, which was brutal.

Find vacant parking slot, pay fee via SDMC app
South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) on Thursday launched its smart parking mobile app and smart card for payment of parking fees at all its surface and multi-level parking lots. The facility is likely to start at four-five parking lots by this weekend. The system aims to help people track locations, find vacant spaces at each parking lot, pay money online and use the SDMC smart card for payment of parking charges. Officials said that the entire system would be monitored to check overuse of parking space and overcharging from the users.

Duped once, man ropes in friends to cheat others
After being duped of lakhs of rupees on pretext of a government job, a man started cheating people in the same manner with the help from his friends. They recently duped a group of youths promising job in the Railways. One of the youths even did a training for two months where he was taught how to check tickets in trains, police said. According to DCP (New Delhi) Deepak Yadav, the accused have been identified as Sunil Kumar, Dayanand Saraswati, Sukhraj and Amar.

Noida records a Covid death after 4 months
The city recorded its first Covid death in four months on Wednesday. The patient was a 67-year-old woman who had visited a private hospital in Sector 62 for a check-up after she had chest pain. She was admitted on October 10 and she passed away the following day. But the death was added to Wednesday’s tally, officials said. The last Covid death in Gautam Budh Nagar was recorded on June 13.

28 fresh cases in Delhi, no death
Delhi recorded zero Covid-19 death and 28 fresh cases with a positivity rate of 0.05% on Thursday. The number of cumulative Covid cases in Delhi stood at 14,39,311 on Thursday. A total of 61,012 tests, including 44,932 RT-PCR and 16,080 rapid antigen, were conducted a day ago, the bulletin said.

Nearly all applicants in Delhi received learner's licence online in last 2 months: Transport department
More than 94 per cent of 66,900 applicants in Delhi have got their e-learning licences at their doorstep through faceless service delivery in the last two months, the Transport department said on Thursday. Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot thanked Delhiites saying they were accepting the "huge" change.

Air quality in the national capital was recorded in the moderate category on Thursday but is likely to deteriorate in the next two days with a rise in farm fire incidents in Punjab and Haryana. A total of 407 farm fires were recorded on Thursday in the neighbouring states of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh with 229 such fires detected in Punjab alone, showed data from the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI). EDMC panel approves new guidelines for spas, massage centres
The standing committee of the East Delhi Municipal Corporation on Thursday approved the new guidelines proposed by the civic body for operation of spas and massage centres, which includes a ban on cross-gender massage. East Delhi Mayor Shyam Sunder Aggarwal had given an anticipatory approval to the new policy late September. On Thursday, the EDMC panel approved this proposal, which will now go to the EDMC House for the final nod, officials said.

Delhi Congress protest outside CM's residence against ban on public celebration of Chhath
The Delhi Congress on Thursday held a protest outside Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence here against the government's decision to not allow Chhath Puja celebrations at public places, a party statement said. 4 held for cheating people in pretext of providing government jobs
Delhi Police have arrested four men for allegedly cheating people on the pretext of providing them jobs in railways, officials said on Thursday. The accused have been identified as Sukhraj Singh alias Love Singh (29), Dayanand Saraswati (34), Sunil Kumar (32) and Amar Kumar (36), they said.

Delhi's maximum temperature on Thursday settled at 33.9 degrees Celsius, one notch above the season's average, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said. The weather office also predicted clear skies in the national capital for Friday while cloudy sky with light or moderate rain over the weekend. The minimum temperature in the city on Thursday was recorded at 19 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the season, it said. (PTI)
