NEW DELHI: The
Left Unity
won all the Central panel seats of the Jawaharlal Nehru University Student Union (JNUSU) for which results were announced on Sunday afternoon.
For the president's post,
N Sai Balaji
of Left Unity polled 2,161 votes in his favour whereas his nearest rival Lalit Pandey of ABVP got only 982 votes out of total 5,185 votes.
The Left Unity's candidate for the vice-president post- Sarika got 2,692 vote against Geeta Sri of ABVP who got 1,012 votes in her favour.

Aejaj
defeated Ganesh of ABVP to clinch general secretary post. A total of 2,423 votes were polled in favour of Aejaj whereas Ganesh got only 1,123 votes.
Amutha (2,047) of the Left coalition bagged joint secretary post by defeating ABVP's Venkat Chaubey (1,247).
The Left-backed All India Students' Association (AISA), Students' Federation of India (SFI), Democratic Students' Federation (DSF) and All India Students' Federation (AISF) have come together to form the 'United Left' alliance.
Besides the Left bloc, there were candidates of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), which is the student wing of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), the Congress-affiliated NSUI (National Students' Union of India) and BAPSA (Birsa Ambedkar Phule Students Association).
The voter turnout in the keenly contested JNUSU election on Friday was 67.8 per cent, believed to be the highest in six years. Over 5,000 students cast their votes. (With agency inputs)
