NEW DELHI: South district police has arrested three men one of whom is an ITI topper and another a senior executive in a multinational bank on Thursday for being allegedly involved in several cases of robbery. The accused have been identified as Sandeep Kumar (36), Fatte Singh (36) and Amit Gaur (29).
Several incidents of robbery at the office of foreign exchange took place in Delhi and adjoining areas.
On August 25, two persons went to LKG Forex Ltd in Lajpat Nagar to exchange US dollars. The owner asked them to wait for a while at the counter. The owner kept his money bag on the counter and started worshipping. Suddenly the duo lifted the bag and ran away.
"Our teams laid a trap on September 9 on Nassir Abdul Kamaal Marg (outer ring road) and arrested the accused,'' said HGS Dhaliwal, DCP (south).
Sandeep's father is a passport agent and his mother is a retired deputy director, DDA. While Amit Gaur is an ITI topper, the third accused is a bank executive.
