NEW DELHI: Delhi Police has filed a chargesheet against alleged gangster Zikra, also known as ‘Lady Don’, and seven others in connection with the murder of 17-year-old Kunal in Seelampur earlier this year. The chargesheet, filed under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), includes offences related to murder, criminal conspiracy and others. Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Anmol Nohria took cognizance of the charge sheet on July 26 and stated, “From the perusal of material available on record, I take cognizance of the offence.” The charges have been framed under Sections 103(1), 61(2), 351(3), 3(5), 249(a), and 238(a) of the BNS. Those named in the chargesheet include Zikra, Anas, Sahil Ansari, Zahida, Nafees, Vikas, Shahid alias Shuaib, and Aneesh. Of them, key accused Zikra and Sahil Ansari were produced before the court from judicial custody. The court has issued summons to the remaining accused—Zahida, Shahid, Anas, Aneesh, Nafees, and Vikas—for the next hearing, which is scheduled for August 8. The case pertains to the murder of Kunal, a 17-year-old boy who was allegedly stabbed to death in Delhi’s Seelampur area in April 2025.
Zikra was arrested in April and later remanded to judicial custody on April 21 by the Karkardooma Court, following police interrogation. Sahil, also arrested in connection with the crime, was initially sent to two days' police custody before being remanded to judicial custody as well. According to investigators, Zikra told police during interrogation that she and Sahil were seeking revenge against Kunal. She alleged that her cousin Sahil was attacked in November last year by two boys—Lala and Shambhu—who were friends of Kunal. Although Kunal was present during the incident, his name was not included in the FIR as he was a minor at the time. Believing Kunal to be involved in the attack, the accused allegedly conspired to kill him. Police say all eight accused have now been charge-sheeted in the case.
