Gunpoint Robbery Caught on CCTV at Grocery Shop
New Delhi: A CCTV video has surfaced on social media showing an alleged gunpoint robbery at a grocery shop believed to be in West Delhi’s Vikaspuri.
In the footage, two individuals can be seen entering the store, one with his face covered with a cloth and the other wearing a helmet, after which they are seen allegedly threatening the shopkeeper at gunpoint. They also get into a scuffle with the shopkeeper towards the end of the video, which is dated April 25, around 7.05 pm.
The recording shows the first individual in a motorcycle helmet approaching the counter and pointing a firearm at the shopkeeper. Shortly after, a second individual wearing a blue shirt and a face mask enters the premises and moves behind the counter to access the cash drawer. The footage then shows the second man removing cash and placing it in his pockets while the shopkeeper remains held at gunpoint.
During the incident, a woman enters the shop but is seen standing aside and later fleeing after she notices the firearm as the men continue the alleged robbery. As the two men attempt to exit the store, the shopkeeper engages in a physical struggle with them. The individual in the helmet is seen striking the shopkeeper with the weapon before both suspects flee the scene. The video ends with the shopkeeper standing near the entrance of the store.
A case has been registered and an investigation is underway.
