New Delhi: Using a mobile app to track vehicles with pending EMIs, a gang roamed the city in a white car, masquerading as bank recovery agents and preying on commuters.Drivers were allegedly intercepted mid-route, threatened and assaulted before being coerced into making payments via QR codes. Delhi Police has arrested four men.A man approached police on Thursday, claiming that he was wrongfully restrained near Vikas Marg, close to ITO. He told police that he was forced to transfer Rs 18,000 through an online transaction.A case was registered at the Shakarpur police station.“Acting on a tip-off, we received inputs about a group from Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh,” said DCP (east) Rajeev Kumar. Prince (22), Aakash (25), Shivam (23) and Teetu (22) were arrested.The accused revealed that they used a car without a number plate to avoid detection.
