Three days after an elderly doctor was found murdered at his house that was ransacked in northwest Delhi’s Jahangirpuri, cops have arrested a robber who had strangulated him and made away with his valuables.

NEW DELHI: Three days after an elderly doctor was found murdered at his house that was ransacked in northwest Delhi’s Jahangirpuri, cops have arrested a robber who had strangulated him and made away with his valuables. He, along with two of his accomplices, had executed the plan and they had been monitoring the house for almost a week, police said.
Cops added that the accused has a past record and this time, he wanted to make away with a huge sum of money.

So, he targeted a doctor’s house, thinking that he would have cash and jewellery worth several crores of rupees. He finally made away with almost Rs 10 lakh in cash and valuables.
Police said that the accused was identified as Vishal Rawat (18), a resident of Jahangirpuri. He had formed a gang himself with a few of his friends, soon after he turned 18 four months ago, and ever since, had been involed in a few snatchings and robberies as well.
Additional DCP (northwest) said that a part of the robbed cash has been seized as well. “The hunt for his other accomplices is on. Teams are raiding all possible hideouts of the remaining accused in West Bengal, UP and places near Ranchi,” he said.
The ayurvedic doctor, Iqbal Qasim, was found dead at his house in Jahangirpuri on Monday morning. There were no visible injury marks on his body, police said. A dagger was found near his body as well. His house was ransacked and he was alone at the time of incident as his adopted daughter had gone out.
