NEW DELHI: People travelling from ITO to Moolchand flyover should avoid the BRT corridor on Saturday after 11pm because the carriageway will be closed for vehicular traffic till 6am on Sunday. The carriageway will be closed because DMRC will be unloading its coaches on the ramp between Jangpura and Lajpat Nagar station (line 6) for the start of trial runs.

‘‘Traffic will be diverted from Lodhi flyover. The stretch between Lodhi flyover and Moolchand flyover will be closed because cranes will be unloading the coaches. We have been assured by DMRC that the work will be over by 6am on Sunday,’’ said G C Dwivedi, DCP Traffic (south).
Those heading towards Chirag Delhi from ITO will have to take a right turn from under Lodhi flyover and take the Lodhi road route.
‘‘Those going towards Moolchand on the BRT corridor will inconvenienced, since the carriageway will be blocked. But traffic on the other carriageway will continue as usual,’’ said Dwivedi. The right turn under the Lodhi flyover towards Lala Lajpat Rai Path will be closed. So those coming from Lodhi Road will have to go straight towards Neela Gumbadh and then take a right for Ashram.
‘‘The coaches will be lowered using two cranes. These coaches will then be pushed up the ramp till Lajpat Nagar station with the help of a battery shunter,’’ said a DMRC spokesperson.
